Time management is one of the most essential skills you can master to boost your productivity and achieve your goals.
Do you feel that the day goes by so fast that you can’t finish all your tasks and they pile up all week?
The fast-paced life we lead—even while staying at home—has forced us to adopt drastic changes. Remote work, growing job responsibilities, household tasks, family obligations, and the ever-present lure of social media demand that we manage time more effectively to achieve both personal and professional goals.
If you’ve felt overwhelmed lately, you’re not alone. The challenge of managing time, especially during high-pressure periods like the COVID-19 pandemic, has become universal. However, time management is a skill, just like any other—it can be learned and improved with the right tools and mindset.
Time Is Your Most Valuable Non-Renewable Resource
Time is atypical, inelastic, indispensable, and irreplaceable. And it’s fully within your control. The question you must ask yourself daily is:
What is the most valuable use of my time today?
This simple yet powerful question can reshape your approach to time. Make it a daily mantra to keep your attention, energy, and efforts focused on tasks that truly matter to your goals.
The 4D’s: Your Time Management Mindset
No technique works without the right mindset. That’s why we at Euro Business Coach encourage clients to adopt the 4D’s:
- Desire – to use time better
- Dedication – to stick to your plan
- Determination – to overcome distractions
- Discipline – to make it a habit
3 Key Steps Before Applying Any Time Management Technique
Before you start applying the time management technique that best suits you and your environment, I suggest you review and exhaust these three steps:
1. Define Your Purpose, Vision, and Values
Take time to reflect on your life’s direction. Whether personal or professional, clarifying your purpose and valuesgives you a strong foundation for decision-making and helps you stay focused on long-term outcomes.
2. Set Clear Objectives and Results in Every Area of Your Life
Use the Rule of Three, a method originally designed for business but easily adapted to personal time management. It states that only three main tasks or activities usually represent 90% of your total impact—either in your job or in your personal life.
Focus your energy on these three. Identify them and make sure they are on your calendar.
3. Plan Your Activities Monthly and Weekly
Prioritize your tasks ahead of time and dedicate 30 minutes each day—ideally in the morning—to review your progress. Use a visual, unified calendar; there are many mobile apps that can help, such as Google Calendar, Notion, or Trello.
👉 Important: FOLLOW YOUR PLAN! None of this will matter without desire, dedication, determination, and discipline.

One of the simplest and most popular techniques is Pomodoro, invented by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. It enhances productivity by structuring your work time into short, focused bursts.
🍅 How It Works in 6 Easy Steps
- Choose a task to complete
- Set a timer for 25 minutes
- Work uninterrupted on that task
- Take a 5-minute break (this ends one “pomodoro”)
- Repeat steps 1–4
- After 4 pomodoros, take a longer break of 20–30 minutes
This technique boosts focus and forces mental rest, which helps prevent burnout.
3 Golden Rules of Pomodoro
- Break down complex projects
- Group small, related tasks
- Never interrupt a pomodoro once it starts.
